If it’s something they think is cool, no problem. However most wood items on the market or showing up at craft sales are aimed towards knick knack things that women (older women) buy. I’ve seen nothing that would interest anyone in their teen years. The dinosaur assembled cut outs do get attention from grade schoolers, but there’s an age gap after that. As well as a gender gap.

Well, some may feel they’re not very artistic so what could they do? Also when you are living in apartments it is hard to set up much of a wood shop. How many of the kids have parents with woodworking tools? I bet kids with parents who enjoy woodworking are more likely to try it. And, this is the video generation. How many sexy ads do you see on TV for woodworking kits? I don’t see any. Here comes a bit of shameless self-promotion: I have a little website about woodcrafts where I’m trying to show a few neat types of things that can be done without enormous investment of financial resources or much innate artistic ability. I’m including video where possible, too, since we are in a video/YouTube age. Visit if you like.
